Step 1: The 10-Second Visual Check

Before you even open the cab door, walk around the machine. I know it sounds basic, but between you and me, I‘ve lost count of the times we wasted an hour diagnosing a problem that was just a clogged screen or a loose wire.

Check for: fluid puddles under the undercarriage, hydraulic oil leaking from a cylinder rod, debris wrapped around the final drive, or a disconnected harness you can spot from 10 feet away. Take a photo. If it’s a huge leak, don‘t start the engine.

Step 2: The Code Check (Read the Display)
